Major Moscow's Strikes Eliminate Electricity In Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have faced increased strikes in the past few days

During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused electricity outages in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were injured while residents in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and encountered interruptions to drinking water, per reports from municipal leaders.

At the same time, a minor was killed in a distinct Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, according to local officials.

Moscow has escalated strikes on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "substantial measures" from allies to increase pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not window dressing but strong steps - from the United States, European nations and the G7 - in delivering air defence systems and enforcing restrictions," he wrote in a social media post.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty projectiles targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such strikes as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were striving to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes damaged electrical systems and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the strikes on the city have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by local officials.

Local officials said the metropolitan region endured significant strikes overnight. A seven-year-old child was killed and several individuals were wounded.

The strikes come after periods of aerial attacks in the area, parts of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

The entire country is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are more difficult to spot.

Authorities told journalists that Russia was deliberately attempting to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already disrupting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and government agencies were bracing for more assaults.
