Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the pair met personally to build hype for next month's bout.
Ex two-time world title holder Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Fighter's Attitude
"I'm going to injure his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will really want to hurt him. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of these statements, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
Nevertheless, the novice is still one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, frequently receiving huge financial rewards.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would stop the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently being planned for 2026.
"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.
Size Disparity
As both boxers engaged in the traditional face-off, with their size difference on show, it drove home just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the match is really going ahead.
